What TIFs Are Available on DAS?

TIF stands for time-in-force and means how long an order is active. All DAS Trader products offer 13 standard TIFs.

Be aware that availability depends on your broker and the route you select. Check with your broker first if you have a question about the availability of certain TIFs. Below is an explanation of the standard TIFs.

  • DAY+: Order is active for regular market hours and pre/post market hours.
  • DAY: Order is active only during regular market hours.
  • IOC: Immediate-Or-Cancel, any part of the order that can be filled immediately will be filled, while the remaining shares will be cancelled.
  • GTC: Good-Till-Cancelled, the order will stay active until you’ve decided to cancel it. GTC orders remain active during both regular trading hours and pre/post market hours.
  • GTC-D: Same as GTC but only active during regular trading hours.
  • At Open: Order is sent to be filled at market open. Any unfilled order is cancelled.
  • At Close: Order is sent to be filled at market close. Any unfilled order is cancelled.
  • FOK: Fill-or-kill, requires that the order be filled immediately in its entirety or cancelled.
  • 1Min, 2Min, 3Min, 5Min, and 10Min: The maximum amount of time that the order remains active for execution before being automatically cancelled.
